A Note from Stephanie:
I am currently on an indefinite medical leave from all in-person classes, private sessions, and group bookings. To honor my own journey with Lyme and environmental mold toxicity, I am prioritizing my recovery and letting my health dictate my timeline.
Thank you for your grace and for being a community that values the reality of healing over the performance of health.

"I’m so thankful that [Grand Canyon Yoga] is a part of our community. It’s so important to keep up our practices and stay healthy in this extreme environment. I really appreciate their approaches and modifications – they’re able to adapt to our community of practitioners that is multi-generational and has members at all skill levels"

"So grateful to have been referred to Stephanie's Christ-centered classes. She's super knowledgeable and shows individual care to her participants. This practice has been truly beneficial to my spirit and mental health. "
-LEAH M., YOGA PRACTITIONER
"Stephanie was my perfect intro to yoga. She was always kind, helpful, fun and sensitive to my aged and out of shape body. She made stretching, breathing, and self-care a wonderful experience. I moved to California, and just can't find another teacher who does it so great. "
-JULIE S., YOGA PRACTITIONER
"I began taking Stephanie's Yoga classes to recover from an illness. It was very beneficial for me physically and mentally, I am very thankful for her and those classes. I looked forward to attending her class every week. She has a calming presence and is a fantastic teacher!"
-DEREK O., YOGA PRACTITIONER
"I'm thankful for the calming environment that Stephanie creates. It is very nurturing and soothing after a long, hectic day or week, yet provides enough of a challenge physically without the pressure to perform. I don't have to do what anyone else is doing, but can learn to listen to my body and what it needs for that day... more rest, more stretch, etc... I always leave feeling better than when I came!"
-TIFFANY S., YOGA PRACTITIONER
"I had the pleasure of working with Stephanie as a beginner in yoga. She was an excellent teacher, and I learned a lot in the few weeks I spent learning from her. Her stretches, poses and techniques really helped me out, I left feeling refreshed. She's a great teacher and I highly recommend Stephanie to anyone looking into yoga, all levels."
-ARTHUR F., YOGA PRACTITIONER
"I’m new to yoga and really appreciate the welcoming attitude of Stephanie and everyone involved with Grand Canyon Yoga. There is a true effort to accommodate people of different skill levels and to help everyone progress in their practice. I feel that they have created a comfortable and safe place for everyone."
-DAVID WATSON, YOGA PRACTITIONER
"I’ve been attending yoga with Stephanie for several months now. Her classes are both inviting and challenging. It’s been my experience that Stephanie is willing to spend time learning about you and about your practice, and she has a sincere desire to assist in facilitating growth and healing. "
-BRIAN ARELLANES, YOGA PRACTITIONER
"Stephanie ensures that all people feel welcome and cared for during her yoga classes. She is trauma sensitive so all participant are invited into her practice. Her only requirement is breathing. Specially, as an older, curvy, hearing impaired attendee, I always feel like Stephanie is supporting my needs. I feel mentally and physically stronger after attending her classes. Ultimately, discovering Stephanie’s classes has been life changing. "
-STEPH D., YOGA PRACTITIONER
"I have a subscription app for yoga practices, but it doesn't compare to Canyon classes! The elements of mindfulness and connecting with my body is something that can't be replicated. These yoga classes invigorate my body, mind, and soul."
-DIANA, YOGA PRACTITIONER
"I am increasing my flexibility, relaxing my mind and body, all while challenging myself with breathing and balance during each class and have even met some incredible people! Stephanie and Sam are very different in their teaching styles, both with very unique strengths, and I really appreciate them for taking time out of their lives to help others whether it be physically to meet individual goals or mentally by providing community."

Grand Canyon Yoga exists to cultivate a sanctuary for survivors—a space where inclusivity, agency, and collective liberation are the highest priority. We explicitly center the safety and autonomy of those who have been marginalized, dehumanized, or harmed by toxic power structures.
As a chronically ill, disabled, and trauma-informed business, we envision a future where healing is an intentional act of reclaiming agency. We see a community liberated from toxic power structures and "guru culture," where the reality of our bodies is honored over the performance of health, and where our growth is rooted in sober judgment and critical thinking.
Health & Sustainability Policy: To ensure the longevity and quality of this practice, classes are subject to two primary factors:
The Sustainability Minimum: In-person classes require a 3-person minimum registration at least 30 minutes prior to class time to proceed.
The Teacher's Agency: As a teacher living with chronic illness, I prioritize the same self-compassion I teach. In the event of a health flare-up or illness, classes will be canceled with as much notice as possible, and all payments/credits will be immediately returned.
I don't have a yoga mat or props; do you provide them?
Yes! We have extra mats and props available for you to borrow.
Where are your classes located?
Our main location for classes is inside the Grand Canyon Community Recreation Center at 2 Mohave Street Grand Canyon Village, AZ 86023.
Locations may vary; please view the SCHEDULE to see where individual classes are held.
I'm not flexible; can I still do yoga?
Yes! Yoga can help you increase your flexibility. Start with gentle yoga (view our class descriptions) to help you build up flexibility, as well as strength & balance!
I've never done yoga before; where should I start?
Check out our class descriptions to see what is beginner-friendly and will best suit your personal needs. If you still have questions, use our "ask a question" button below! We are happy to help!
What is the most important part of practicing yoga?
BREATHE. The only requirement of your yoga practice is your breath. If the only thing you do for your whole practice is focus on lengthening and slowing your breath, you'll help calm your mind, relieve stress & release built up tension in your body.
